Overzicht van velden waarover een masterproef kan worden gemaakt (opgelet: de studenten zijn vrij een eigen voorstel uit te werken en voor te stellen):

• Cultuurbeleid in Vlaanderen, met nadruk op muziek, digitale cultuur, erfgoed, podiumkunsten, uitgeverij & bibliotheek/informatiewezen
• Theoretische studie van “cultural studies” topics, zoals ervaringsgerichtheid van cultuur, interculturele relaties of cultuur in internationaal perspectief
• Studie van populaire cultuur, jongerencultuur, festivalcultuur, televisiecultuur en interactie hoge/lage

Wat?

De masterproef is een verdieping van een thema dat in de meeste gevallen door de stage praktisch wordt aangebracht. Bij een verkorte stage is die koppeling met de masterproef niet verplicht, maar het onderwerp van de thesis moet nog steeds passend zijn binnen de opleiding Culturele Studies.

• Stages bij de opleiding Culturele studies zijn vrijgesteld van werkpostfiche!

The subject of the Master Cultural Studies is the relation between art, society and the whole of media and techniques which shape both art and society. Inevitably, and deliberately, its approach is interdisciplinary. Cultural scientists from various backgrounds take this Master to study the relations between society and media. The Master in Cultural Studies does not have a clearly demarcated object of study, but rather a practice-driven take on both contemporary and historical phenomena.
